Photographic safaris around Namibia: . The package which many of our clients choose as an addition to their stay at Gamsberg is a four day/three night trip to the famous Sossusvlei dunes, the Namib desert and the Namibian coast (Swakopmund and Walvis Bay), including a sunrise over the dunes as well as a private boat trip where you will be able to spot dolphins, Cape Fur seals, pelicans and other marine wildlife, and from June to November possibly even Southern Right and Humpback Whales. Both destinations are at a comfortable driving distance from Gamsberg.
We also regularly organize photographic trips to many other popular destinations such as the Etosha National Park, Damaraland and its famous Desert Elephants, the Erongo Mountains, the Kalahari, the Okavango Delta and the Skeleton Coast, as well as large game reserves in the area for big game viewing. Please contact us with your ideas regarding time frame and individual preferences and we will send you a route proposal and quote.
At Gamsberg and Mount Barry Wilderness and in the Gamsberg Conservancy: The number one activity are scenic game drives around the reserve, with its terrain ranging from sandy savanna and bush land to beautiful granite rock formations and rough mountain areas. You will have the option to leave the vehicle and go for a bush walk or lengthy hike at any time. You will encounter an abundance of game. Also a special attraction is a unique Aloe Dichotoma (Quiver Tree) forest. Other close-by attractions are the H.E.S.S. observatory telescopes, ancient Bushmen rock paintings, crystal clear rock pools, or you may go for a drive down the Gamsberg Pass into the Namib desert. One of the highlights of your trip will be a sundowner overlooking the wildly beautiful ‘Gamsberg Badlands’. You will also be offered a full day trip to the Gaub River. If you’re looking for a bit of adventure, we can take you on hikes into the most remote parts of the game reserve, which can only be accessed by foot, and even up the Groot or Klein Gamsberg Mountain (at approximately 2349m or 7,706ft above sea level). All this, amidst spectacular wildlife populations.
. We will customize your photographic adventure in the Gamsberg Conservancy according to your individual preferences.
