You will be hosted at our comfortable lodge by Robin and Pauline Hurt and Dan and Jana Mousley. The Lodge is beautifully situated on the crest of a hill with superb views of the Gamsberg Mountain and the surrounding savannah. Various game species can frequently be viewed from the verandah.
The house has 5 spacious en-suite guest rooms, some of which have double beds and others are twin bedded. There is also a cottage to the side of the main house, as well as a meru style tent. The house is open plan style and very comfortable. We can accommodate up to 12 people sharing at one time, but groups are always booked exclusively, having the lodge and the entire conservancy area to oneself.
We maintain eco-friendly standards, and the entire lodge is solar-powered. Wi-fi (basic speed) and TV are available.
There is a signal for mobile phones and other devices from a tower on the top of Gamsberg Mountain, namely MTC. Please check with your server about roaming availability in Namibia, using MTC. The speeds are slow in our area, however.
Your meals will be shared with the family in our dining room or on the veranda in warm weather. We provide fresh European style meals and snacks. House wines, beer and soft drinks are included. We usually serve a three course meal in the evening and a lighter option at lunch.
The climate at Gamsberg ranges from 0 celsius on the coldest winter nights to a maxium of 35 celsius on hot days in the summer. The farm receives a cool breeze even during the summer and is never excessively or unbearably hot. The air is very dry. The sun shines almost all year! Our area is famous for clear skies is known to be the best site for star gazing and astrological studies.
